History of the Houston Friendship Centre
In 1993 a small group of concerned citizens started a dream,
to establish a Friendship Centre in Houston.The Centre was
quickly established with help from numerous volunteers
and the Smithers Friendhship Centre. In 1996, the Houston
Friendship Centre Society (HFCS) was incorporated as a
registered society becoming an independent Friendship
Centre. In 1998, HFCS purchased and renovated its current
administration facility having outgrown the tiny office at the
Health Centre. In 2004, the Blackwell Family donated to
HFCS our current programming facility.
